Baby Clinics And Immunisations

You will need to make an appointment with any of our nursing sisters, Rita and Marian.

Please note:  If for any reason a carer/grandparent needs to bring the child to the nurse or doctor for the immunisation we require written consent from the parent.

Child Health Surveillance

The 6 weeks baby check is held in normal surgery hours, you will automatically receive an appointment.  If your appointment is inconvenient please re-arrange with Reception.

Family Planning Clinic

All of our Doctors, Nurses and Health Care Assistants offer a full contraceptive service during normal surgeries (no coil fitting or removal).  Please enquire at Reception.

Well Person Clinic

Available to all adult patients who have not consulted Doctor for 3 years. Practice nurses carry out a Well Person Check. Please make an appointment at reception. Regular ASTHMA, DIABETIC and HYPERTENSION CLINICS are also available for which you will need to make an appointment at reception.

As well as reception duties, all the receptionists are responsible for specific administrative areas within the practice. The receptionists may need to ask you for further details about your requests when you visit the surgery or when you telephone. This is to ensure we can assist you as quickly and efficiently as possible. They are not being deliberately intrusive and are bound by the same rules/laws of confidentiality as the Doctors and Nurses.

Cervical Cytology

It is recommended that all women should have regular smear tests.  Women who have had a previous smear test are recalled every 3 years (depending on age).

Maternity

The Practice Doctors, together with the Health Visitor and District Midwife provide full  antenatal and post natal care.  For your Health and health of your baby we advise that you :

  1. Stop smoking
  2. Stop Alcohol
  3. Avoid any medication unless prescribed by a Doctor.
